Controlling technology with brain waves

Today we had Dmitry from Thought Wired visit us to talk about brain sensing technology.

Brain sensing technology works by having electrodes pick up electrical signals that are occurring in your brain. The technology is used to help people with concentration, relaxation and even help people communicate without talking.

Students and parents got to test their concentration skills by putting on the headsets and trying to blow up a barrel on a screen. The harder and longer you could concentrate the quicker the barrel would blow up. Instant feedback meant people could adjust their thinking instantaneously to see an affect.

Watching how we could make things happen on the computer screen just by thinking about it was mind-blowing. We could see the power and potential of being able to create with technology. As well as inspiring us with what is possible with technology, it was heartwarming to hear the focus on using technology to make other people’s lives better.

We are very grateful to Dmitry for coming out and talking to us about what is actually happening at the cutting edge of technology and inspiring us all to be ethical creators of technology.
